Maria Nørholm Ramouk is a Moroccan/Danish visual artist examining how resources affect the communities of which we identify and how this is reflected in their internal social organization. Ramouk is concerned with the interrelation between social/economic contexts and social/cultural heritage. Recurring subject-matters are loneliness, allies and repetition. Works are most often presented as plant dyed textile installations and texts which facilitate and invite into rooms of contemplation, conversation and tactility. This by working actively with color compositions, light incidence, tactility and non-static objects from which the work can be transformed and re-arranged according to its users.
