COLLABORATOR

During September 2025, the first phase of Maria Nørholm Ramouk’s permanent work Halemto bikom, antom dayman hadiroun (I dream of you, you are always present) was finalized at Fanefjord Fælled.
The piece is a permanent installation and a communal fireplace for neighbours and guests to freely make use of. It takes its form as a circular earth bank made from surplus soil and stones harvested by farmers from the neighbouring fields. It will function as an infrastructure for commoning, as a site of exchanging, warmth, light and as an invitation for sharing experiences, for cooking, singing, hanging out and for playing. The work draws on Ramouk’s indigenous Amazigh roots by centering distribution, resources and "the circular fireplace" as core values and living stone for her ancestors. Furthermore, it has a direct reference to the circular threshing floor at Ramouk’s family house in Southern Morocco. Halemto bikom… will be officially inaugurated in Summer 2026, but is available for use and interaction from the beginning of October 2025.
Thank you: Elisabeth Kiss, Janne Schäfer, Balz Isler & Morten Bencke (PDAS) for the support and for the willingness to do the hard work of putting the stones in the ground.
