Crying by the Sea is an online platform to co-write a script about our conditions, potentials and responsibilities as online actors. The script will be shared at Casa Cenci in Italy and live-streamed via theatrebuilding.com on 22/6 2024. All writing as part of these events is free and open source, meaning that anyone is allowed to use any part of the text for their own purposes.
We are proud to be presenting the performative piece Crying by the Sea (The Reborn Olive) by the artist group Elyes Lariani, Monia Sander Haj-Mohamed & Mouayed El Ghazouani at Roskilde Festival. Through poetry, collective readings, dance and food choreographies, the piece examines an olives’ journey through a globalized, extractive world - and all the invisible relations and crossings happening in between the olive fields and the farmers in Tunisia to the Danish supermarkets and the hands of the purchaser. This project has been made possible by the invitation of Nikolaj Vedde, curator Food is Now program at Roskilde Festival. Also supported by Bikuben Vision Exhibition Award.
