05/11/2023, WORKSHOP
The artist duo J&K (Janne Schäfer and Kristine Agergaard) have been working in collaboration since 1999 and are based in Berlin, Copenhagen and on the island Møn. J&K’s artistic practice is fundamentally performative and engages various ways of relating performance to other media such as photography, installation, collage, sculpture, found objects and text. Kaleidoscopic reference systems, constructed narratives and altered mythologies build the backbone, whereas collage can be understood as a basic principle for how the works come into existence.
Join artist duo J&K / Janne Schäfer and Kristine Agergaard this Sunday November 5 for the final public event of Vandvenner, a participatory performance ritual created in collaboration with children and water. We are taking you on a short walking tour into the magical forest around Kirsten Kjærs Museum where we are communally conducting a water ritual for and together with a lake-friend. The performance is open for everyone and concludes the first episode of the research project Vandvenner in which we are exploring and learning from and with children as experts on how to communicate and collaborate with water bodies as living entities. This ongoing research project is an integral part of J&K’s artistic contribution to Hosting Lands. The event is free. Come with good boots and weather proof outfits! Vandvenner is supported by Statens Kunst Fond.
