Yesmine Ben Khelil lives and works in Tunis. Developing a diverse practice that combines painting, collage, objects, and drawing, she constructs narratives that bring together heterogeneous elements. In order to reproduce the sensation of a world saturated with representations, where past and present, fiction and reality intertwine. Yesmine draws from a continuous flow of images and proceeds through branching connections. Thus, the images and objects she collects are linked together, then connected to other elements, which generate others in turn, and so on.
These reappropriated images and objects spread through space, forming narratives that summon a multitude of places and temporalities. The stories that emerge from these arrangements tell fragmented tales, often dealing with hybridization, unforeseen accidents, altered nature, or invisible forces.
