06/06/2024, NOTES
PDAS (På Den Anden Side - On The Other Side) is an artist collective based on a former farm on the Island of Møn. Here, Hosting Lands will purchase 1,3 hectare conventional farm land and in collaboration with PDAS other artists and local communities turn it into a commons. This process investigates and questions the legal, social and aesthetic structures of commoning and politics of reversing host-guest relationships.
"It is time to get the foundation of the common ownership of the Fanefjord Fælled and Skovhave and to have the future visions of the project established. In this regard, we have set up a committee to work on the commoning of 1.3 hectares of conventional agricultural land centrally located in the village of Hårbølle on Vestmøn, in extension of På Den Anden Side. The commoning is part of an art and exhibition project, on which PDAS and Hosting Lands are collaborating, and which deals with the commons as an aesthetic, social, legal, and ecological figure. Over the next few months (until September 2024), the committee will be in charge of formalizing a common ownership. The committee consists of representatives from På Den Anden Side and Hosting Lands and different local and external collaborators who inspire and provide perspectives on the work. Who is on the committee:
Local Møn residents: Bent Jørgensen, Adrian Adler Petersen, Liv Pommer Kultivator: Malin Vrijman Skovgro: Nis Rømer Hosting Lands: Ida Bencke, Aziza Harmel PDAS: Morten Bencke, Janne Schäfer We will keep you updated on the work. Thank you! Set the land free! Supported by: Bikuben Vision Exhibition Award, Statens Kunstfond" - Elisabeth Kiss, PDAS
