Til Vægs is a platform that works site specifically within AKB Lundtoftegade in Nørrebro, Copenhagen – a housing area pressured by gentrification mechanism – via methods of methods of place guarding, social and environmental sustainability, open and democratic, long-term processes with resident members. Here Hosting Lands collaborates with artist Skye Jin around the project Gardening as Activism, and the artist-activist platform Til Vægs, on local workshops, long term residencies and co-learning sessions around themes of food, kitchen and garden as a community space.
On the 30th of November, 14 locations in 11 different countries will host a pop-up event focused around chocolate! On this day we aim to celebrate the long journey of chocolate from the bean to the bar and celebrate the people and communities who make up the world of cocoa. Cocoa is dependent on small-holder farmers, and the mission of this global pop-up event is to cause a chocolate rebellion, where these farmers can be included in this full process of chocolate, and have the ability to support their local communities. We invite you to join in this global celebration. Pop-Up events will be held all over the world in: Caribbean locations: Trinidad and Tobago (Tunapuna and Brasso Seco, Grand Rivere), Nevis, Saint Lucia. African locations: Ghana (Accra), Côte d’Ivoire, Cameroon. North America Locations: USA (Memphis, East Cleveland) Europe: Denmark (Copenhagen), UK (London), France (Paris) At Til Vægs, Ringisai Campbell would host a chocolate tasting event, share stories, the importance of reclaiming chocolate for rural communities, and the need to rethink global supply chains in light of inequalities and climate change. It will not be a formal event, but a hygge chat, where we sample and taste chocolate together. Co-hosted by, Arc Co-Create Hub, Til Vægs and Hosting Lands
